A truck driver has died after becoming trapped in the cabin of the vehicle following a crash on Sydney’s M7 this morning.

Paramedics were called to the M7 near Kurrajong Road in Casula around 6.30am after two trucks collided on the Camden Valley Way off-ramp.

The driver of one of the trucks was treated on the scene for critical head injuries however he died at the scene.

All northbound lanes on the M7 remain closed at Casula with drivers being warned to avoid the area and use an alternative route.

Northbound traffic on the Hume Motorway wanting to access the M7 should exit at Cambeltown Rd or Camden Valley Way and use Cowpasture Rd to rejoin the M7.

Commuters have been told to allow extra travel time as police work to clear the accident.

Paramedics were called to the scene to treat the truck driver for critical head injuries. (9News)

Police are now investigating the circumstances around the incident.
