A body has been found inside an overturned ute in the Gold Coast Hinterland that police say belongs to missing man David Hornman.
Swift water rescue crews and divers discovered the body just before 4:30pm on Wednesday afternoon following the vehicle being discovered in flood waters in Canungra Creek just after middday.
Police had earlier confirmed the ute belonged to David Hornman, 38, who has not been seen or heard from since Monday.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and police are now attempting to retieve the vehicle and the body inside.
No confirmation has been made if the body is that of Mr Hornman.
He was last seen leaving a home in white 2013 Isuzu D-Max on Lamington National Park Road around 6am on Monday, and hasn’t contacted family since.
