A teenage boy who disappeared while swimming with a friend on the Gold Coast hinterland has been found dead.
Police said two boys got into trouble about 4.45pm on Thursday while swimming at Cedar Creek Falls, about 25 kilometres north-west of Surfers Paradise.
The 13-year-old didn’t make it back to shore, sparking a search and rescue operation in the area.
Specialist police, firefights and paramedics searched the water and shoreline for the boy but police later confirmed he had been found dead.
