A NSW man has died eight days after getting the coronavirus vaccine and while the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) are investigating, they have not yet found a link.

Darren Missen, from Tamworth, died suddenly on April 21, eight days after getting the AstraZeneca vaccination.

“He is so fit and healthy in such good knick and then bang he is gone,” his friend Mark Craig told 9News.

Today the head of the TGA Professor John Skerritt said: “the current evidence does not suggest a likely association” between the vaccine and the man’s death.

“We do have to remember that sadly, every week in Australia 3000 people die of all sorts of causes,” Professor Skerritt said.

He added about 50 Australians each day present to their doctors or a hospital with a blood clot – some with a cause and others with “no reason at all”.

“It’s important to realise that we’re not seeing a flood of these serious cases.”

The Prime Minister also called for calm today.

“Let’s allow the medical facts to be established and let’s make a decision on those facts,” Scott Morrison said.
