A severe weather warning remains in areas of south-east Queensland with locally heavy rainfall, damaging winds and hazardous of conditions along the coastline, a Bureau of Meteorology spokesman said.
“Although the peak period of severe weather has properly passed overnight, severe weather still remains,” he said.
The heaviest of the rainfall is all currently focused off Fraser Island and the Sunshine Coast.
Shower activity is tracking along the south Queensland coastline.
The severe weather should start to diminish into tomorrow.
A flood warning remains in place for coastal catchments between St Lawrence and the Queensland-NSW border, including areas of the Darling Downs.
Hazardous serve conditions caused by gale-force winds are a real risk, the spokesman said.
