In a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, discussed the latest developments in the Ukraine crisis and progress made in the Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations. The Ukrainian President briefed His Highness Sheikh Mohamed on the current events. Sheikh Mohamed emphasized the necessity of finding peaceful solutions via discussion, dialogue, and understanding in order to bring peace to Ukraine and stop the conflict and its consequences.
He explained that the protection of people must be prioritized, as well as improving efforts and coordination between countries and humanitarian organizations to assist affected Ukrainian nationals. His Highness stated that the UAE supports any actions taken to expedite a peaceful resolution of the conflict, including diplomatic efforts and peace discussions. For his part, Zelensky thanked the UAE for being so friendly to Ukrainian people, as well as for its efforts to facilitate their admission and provide essential humanitarian relief since the crisis began.
