On Friday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, conducted a virtual summit with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both leaders expressed their delight at the continued expansion of bilateral cooperation in all areas. The statement “Advancing India and UAE Comprehensive Strategic Collaboration: New Frontiers, New Milestone” sets a framework for a future-oriented partnership between India and the UAE and identifies focus areas and outcomes.

The common goal is to encourage new trade, investment, and innovation in a variety of sectors, including the economy, energy, climate action, emerging technologies, skills and education, food security, healthcare, and defense and security. The signing and exchange of the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) by UAE Minister of Economy Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri and Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal was a significant highlight of the Virtual Summit. The agreements were signed virtually in the presence of the two presidents in New Delhi. The agreement will help Indian and UAE enterprises in a variety of ways, including increased market access and lower tariffs.
