Hundreds of travellers are facing lengthy delays after a power surge caused mass outages at Brisbane Airport this morning.
Baggage, check-in and security systems were all affected by the surge between 6am and 8am.
While the outage only lasted about 35 minutes, an airport spokesperson told 4BC‘s Neil Breen passengers would continue to experience delays throughout the morning after staff had to resort to manual check-in measures.
The spokesperson it was unclear how long it would take for systems to start working normally again.
“It’s hard to say, but we’ve got the team on the ground working to resolve this issue and get passengers moving through as quickly as possible, so hopefully we’ll have an update shortly,” the spokesperson told 4BC.
Flights are still able to depart, but travellers have been warned to check online for details on their flight prior to coming to the airport.
