NSW Health’s Dr Jeremy McAnulty said that there were more than 20,000 tests conducted in the last day which is “critical” in stopping transmission spreading.
Residents around the Byron Shire and Northern Rivers remain on high alert after it was revealed earlier this week that infectious Queensland cases of COVID-19 had travelled to the area and there was a new case recorded in the holiday town.
NSW Health have reminded the public that anyone who visited Byron Bay Park Hotel/Motel restaurant and pub at Suffolk Park on Sunday March 28 between 1.45pm – 2.10pm should immediately seek testing and isolate.
The following venues are considered casual contacts and those who may have been present during the stated time should watch for symptoms.
– Suffolk Park Bakery, Saturday March 27 between 12.45pm – 1.15pm and 2.45pm – 3.15pm
– Suffolk Park Bakery and Shopping Centre Plaza on Sunday March 28 between 10.30am and 11.15am.
There were 6956 COVID-19 vaccinations administered across NSW yesterday, bringing the total number distributed across the state to 124,345.
