Queensland’s Department of Transport and Main Roads has asked drivers if they know the rules around indicating in a roundabout.

The question was: Which of the following is the correct way to indicate so that the other drivers know what the blue car intends to do?
A. No indicating is needed
B. Don’t indicate when entering the roundabout. Before exiting, indicate left
C. Indicate right while approaching and entering the roundabout. Before exiting, indicate left
D. Indicate right while approaching, entering and exiting the roundabout

The answer was: “C – Indicate right while approaching and entering the roundabout. Before exiting, indicate left.

“When you’re making a right turn you need to approach the roundabout in the right lane (or the lane marked as allowing a right turn), then signal right as you approach the roundabout and continue to signal right until you’re ready to exit.

“Signal left before you exit the roundabout. Turn off the signal after you have exited.

“You always have to give way to vehicles that are already on the roundabout.”
