A missing Brisbane mother-of-three might have fallen asleep in a skip bin before being picked up by a rubbish truck, with fatal consequences, police have said.

More questions than answers surround the disappearance of 38-year-old Natarn Auld.

She was last seen on CCTV walking past a Capalaba service station at 3.30am on December 14.

But, investigators say, her mobile showed she stayed near the same location until 4.10am, during which time she wasn’t shown on CCTV leaving.

The phone was then located several times tracking in a northbound direction, before finally stopping at a recycling facility in Northgate.

Police have found a garbage truck that followed the same route at the exact same time.

Authorities are now trying to determine whether Ms Auld could have fallen asleep in a skip bin, and was killed after a rubbish truck picked it up on its rounds.

Neither Ms Auld nor her phone have been found.
