The UAE's health system includes both government-funded and privately run health facilities that may provide a full range of medical services. The National Crisis and Emergency Management Authority is in charge of the emergency response system (NCEMA). Within the UAE, the covid-19 preventative measures are tightly implemented, with infractions carrying severe fines. The new covid-19 countermeasures and health protocol, which will take effect on March 1, 2022, were recently announced by the NCEMA.

The newly implemented health protocols are a welcome move that demonstrates the country's ability to lead by example in dealing with the covid-19 epidemic in a systematic manner. While announcing the new rules, the government emphasized the need of people continuing to follow the preventive measures in place (though they are now more relaxed). The focus is now on achieving a complete return to normalcy.
