The Israel Space Agency and its UAE counterpart issued a joint request for research groups in Israel and the UAE to submit joint ideas based on data obtained by the Vegetation and Environment Monitoring on a New Micro-Satellite.
“The vital space cooperation between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, which was started today, demonstrates how technology can bring people together,” said Orit Farkash-HaCohen, Minister of Science, Technology, and Space.
This is the countries’ first partnership in the sphere of space, which was underlined in an agreement signed in October 2021 in Dubai between the governments of Israel and the United Arab Emirates. The research will focus on the climate issue, with an emphasis on precision agriculture and the study of water bodies, and will be carried out on the VENS satellite, Israel’s first-ever satellite created and launched.
