The Abu Dhabi Health Authority, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, has announced the implementation of a “distance education” system for the first two weeks of the second semester in order to ensure the safe return of students to their schools and to strengthen precautionary measures. During the two weeks, tests on persons in the education sector will be intensified, as well as an assessment of the epidemiological situation and revising protocols for returning to educational facilities.

In the interest of the school community’s health and safety, this decision applies to all public and private schools in the emirate, including training centers, colleges, and universities, as part of the emirate’s preventive measures to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus and maintain a low rate of infection. The committee also encourages parents and guardians of children, teachers, and administrative staff to get a supporting vaccine dose and to follow preventive measures such as keeping a physical distance of at least two meters and wearing a mask correctly while washing and sterilising hands.
