According to the Airports Council International (ACI), Dubai Foreign Airport retained its position as the world’s largest international hub by international passengers in 2021. The top five airports in the world are Dubai, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Paris, according to the International Airports Association.

“The ACI World passenger traffic rankings show an encouraging trend of recovery, with most of the recurrent busiest airports pre-Covid-19 returning to the top,” said Luis Felipe de Oliveira, director general of ACI World. “Although we are wary that recovery may meet several hurdles, the momentum produced by countries reopening plans might lead to an increase in travel in the second half of 2022,” says the report.
