The United Arab Emirates is doing everything in its power to encourage peaceful solutions to the Ukraine crisis during its presidency of the United Nations Security Council in March, according to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. Sheikh Mohamed stated at a meeting with Austrian Chancellor Carl Nehmer at Al Shate’ Palace that the UAE will work with all parties involved to promote international peace. The Crown Prince and the Chancellor have discussed a number of regional and international matters of mutual concern, the most pressing of which is the unfolding Ukraine crisis and its implications for world security and peace.
They emphasized the necessity of giving humanitarian aid to the affected civilians to assure their protection and assistance, as well as finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis through dialogue, negotiation, and diplomatic solutions. Meanwhile, the leaders have discussed the opportunities for further enhancing bilateral ties in light of the UAE-Austria comprehensive strategic relationship. Sheikh Mohamed congratulated Nehmer on taking the oath as Austria’s Federal Chancellor at the start of the meeting, wishing him luck in serving his country and people. He also wished for Austria’s progress, growth, and stability to continue.
