(L-R) Sirka Co-Founders Dito Krista (COO) and Rifanditto Adhikara (CEO)

Sirka, a digital personal health coaching platform, has completed its US$2.6 million seed investment round co-led by AC Ventures and Wavemaker Group.

Sequoia Capital India, Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Tim Lee (ex-Sequoia), and singer/entrepreneur Maudy Ayunda participated.

With this capital, Sirka plans to improve its platform features and offerings and partner with medical advisors and F&B, supplies and medication providers.

Founded in 2021 by Rifanditto Adhikara and Dito Krista, Sirka aims to make evidence-based weight loss accessible and affordable for all. The startup addresses weight loss and adjacent pre-chronic diseases by developing proprietary lifestyle programmes with support from health professionals.

The firm claims its programme has helped 1,000-plus members prevent or manage chronic diseases.

“We believe in the power of technology, science, information, and human empathy to simplify the journey. That’s why we created a low-cost approach to help people understand and optimise their health through at-home assessment, personalised action plans, and ongoing progress monitoring, starting with weight care,” said CEO Adhikara.

According to the Food and Nutrition Journal, one in three adults in Indonesia is obese, a relatively high number compared to the global obesity rate of 13 per cent. Obesity rates among adults in Indonesia have doubled over the past two decades, and Indonesia is currently the 4th country in Southeast Asia with the highest obesity prevalence.

Obesity rates in Indonesia are increasing rapidly in rich and poor households as they shift from traditional diets towards processed products that are often higher in fat and sugar and less expensive than wholesome foods. When compounded with increasingly accessible processed foods, the proportion of the obese population in Indonesia is expected to continue to increase, making it an alarming nationwide health crisis.
