As part of the Sheikh Zayed Festival’s New Year’s Eve events, Abu Dhabi will seek to break three Guinness World Records, according to state news agency Wam. The 40-minute fireworks show will seek to break records in terms of volume, duration, and form. For the evening, the festival’s organizing team has planned a number of folkloric and entertainment events and performances. A massive drone show will also take place, lighting up the skies of Al Wathba. “This will be the world’s first show of its kind and magnitude,” Wam added. On the night, Emirati singer Eida Al Menhali, dubbed “the voice of the UAE,” will perform with Iraqi artist Ali Saber. From 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., there will be lots of entertainment for kids, including theatre shows and circus acts, as well as games at Funfair City and other activities at Al Forsan International Sports Resort.
Carnival performances, art and cultural events, and wandering entertainment, as well as folkloric arts and crafts, traditional singing and dance, and Emirati heritage demonstrations, are all available to visitors. Ras Al Khaimah is likewise working hard to ensure that the new year begins with a bang. The emirate’s night-time organizing committee is planning another Guinness World Record-breaking pyrotechnics spectacular with pyrodrones, lights, colors, and shapes. The 12-minute pyrotechnic show, which will span a 4.7-kilometer stretch of coastline between Al Marjan Island and Al Hamra Village, will attempt to set two world records. The first effort will be for the Highest Altitude Multirotor / Drone Firework Display, and the second try will be for the Most Remotely Operated Multirotors / Drones Launching Fireworks Simultaneously.
