Following up on the big order for 255 planes placed on the first day, Airbus has kept the momentum going with more orders on days two and three. Air Lease Corporation (ALC) signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) on Monday for 111 aircraft from Airbus’ current product portfolio. 25 A220-300s, 55 A321neos, 20 A321XLRs, four A330neos, and seven A350F freighter aircraft are on the list. ALC has 426 Airbus planes on its books right now.
ALC and Airbus will also develop a multi-million dollar ESG fund as part of the partnership. The fund will be used to invest in long-term aviation development initiatives and will be open to a wide range of stakeholders, including aircraft leasing and finance organizations. “This new order announcement is the culmination of many months of hard work and dedication by both organizations to optimize and fine tune the size and scope of this large aircraft transaction in light of the rapidly growing global airline demand to modernize their jet fleets through the ALC leasing medium,” said Steven F Udvar-Hazy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation.
