On Friday the militant Hezbollah group said it fired a barrage of rockets near Israeli positions close to the Lebanese border calling it retaliation for Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon a day earlier.
In a statement, Hezbollah says it hit “open fields” near Israeli positions in the disputed Shebaa farms area, with “dozens” of rockets. No casualties were reported.
In the southern village of Shwaya, Hasbaya district, villagers intercepted a truck carrying a launchpad for rockets, local media reported. Videos circulating on social media showed the villagers of the predominately Druze town attack a truck and van along with its occupants. This happened while a barrage of rockets was fired from toward Israel.
