A humanitarian convoy was authorized to enter the region and this dynamic must continue, said Jean Castex, after the closure of one of key access checkpoints to Gaza that has been subjected to Israeli airstrikes killing more than 210 Palestinians including 60 children. In a question-answer session with the government, Castex also urged Israel to guarantee humanitarian and health personnel´s safety as well as journalists, questioned by communist parliamentary leader André Chassaigne. Regarding violence escalation between Israelis and Palestinians, Jean Castex called for a halt to hostilities, marked by indiscriminate bombings over Gaza and the launching of missiles from Gaza to Israeli territory, where civilian victims were also reported.
